Not the biggest Liquid DnB fan...

But this is really good (and I do always love me some good DnB). The samples for the drums are really good. The lead synth could have been a bit more interesting in sound, but that beautiful bass more than makes up for it.

Overall this is really well paced and everything holds together solid. Good stuff

Envy responds:

I actually have an updated version and the lead is a little bit more interesting XD

Very nice

Love the mixture of instruments, it's all very hypnotizing (especially that bass). Also, all of the ambient noises are beautifully pieced together, gives a nice feeling. It's almost like walking through a cemetery at dusk, right when the sun is going down.

Overall very nice job.

StefBidz responds:

I'm glad you noticed the ambient noises. I think it's the main thing in
this song. And I like your cemetery description.

Thanks a lot !

Pretty good

Props man, this definitely pretty good. Like the impeding feeling it has. The only thing I can say that's even remotely negative, is that it's a little too bass heavy in that it cuts a lot of the other parts out. Otherwise, very good use of sounds. Very solid, just the bass needs to be turned down just a little.

9/10, voted 5.

I think its a matter of personal taste, I personally like the bass really loud >:)

Dig it

I like the ideas you utilized for the most part, the intro was definitely pretty interesting. A lot of the sounds you utilize on the bass are definitely interesting and it is pretty overall filthy (though I feel it crescendos a little to slowly and has too much sustain).

Also, I would like to see a little more variation in the drums and overall piece in general. As I can tell that this is a simple piece, I'm not going to hit you too much on variation.

The mixing is decent, though I feel there is a little too much reverb and that drums feel a bit drowned out by the bass.

Overall this piece was decent and I'm not going to hit you too hard with points about mixing and composition, because it seems to me this was purposely made short and simple just to get the style down. Overall it's a really good start and I hope to hear more in the future.

EricFreeman responds:

Yeah, I've been experimenting a lot with dubstep and massive in general recently (I created two other dubstep songs in the past, but nothing "skrillex" style before).

And yeah, the reverb does get to be a little too much at times...but I really like reverb :3

Thanks for listening! :D

So soothing and spacey.

Amazing man, I love it.

The wide range of synths and effects give a feeling of just being a such a vast area, so much going on. The mixing is definitely really good. The use of the movie samples is well placed.

Also the panning of each individual part really helped create a good atmosphere. I just felt so lost in the music that at times I forgot I was in my house.

Overall good job man and keep up the work!

Dj-UnKnOwN responds:

i'm really glad that you liked it! And there's nothing more an artist likes to hear than someone telling you that they got lost in your music music. It really makes all the time and effort worth it =]

I love adding in little things sound effects and such to enhance the atmosphere ;)

I have a new song called Just Trance (just dance remix with out the gaga vocals xD it's awesome trust me) coming out in a day or 2 so stay tuned!

This is...

Fuckin incredible. Good solid simple beat that just gets you dancin out of your seat.

Absolutely love it.

Syztm responds:

Thanks man :D

Very... Mystical

Definitely agree with the person below, you can just feel that Crimson feel in the beginning. Also, I can hear a little bit of Dream Theater and Rush influence, here and there.

Each of the different sections of the songs move seamlessly and everyone one them are just as interesting as the last. Though I would like to see the vox's presence be brought a tad in the mix. Overall this some really good stuff. The effects on the vox at: "The ills of our minds are severed..." has a bit of hint of Volta influence (just an observation).

Overall really good song, btw was that a bit of subtle wah added on that line towards the end of the piece? If so, nice dynamic use of the wah mate.

Kor-Rune responds:

Thanks! This song was particularly a challenge to write vocal parts to, I'm glad you like them! And yeah, definitely a Volta influence with the fast flanger vocal effect.

Definitely liking it

This is some good stuff. I like how it begins with a slow bell chime, definitely helps with the build up. Everything comes in and just hits at the right moment. As this is a rough mix, you can hear some mixing issues, but not that many (some parts feel buried, but that's an easy fix overall). Overall the sound is exciting and enticing, and the song itself has a lot of power, that I hope to see more of brought out in the final mix.

itsfoxhall responds:

Thanks very much dude shall take your oppinions into consideration whilst mixing :)

Calming

This song is highly relaxing and highly introspective (if a song can be). I almost feel lost in myself as I listen to it. And I can definitely feeling what you mean how the flute sounds like it's saying back and forth.

There is a bit of clipping from what I can hear through my headphones, but not enough or at a level where it takes away from the song itself.

Overall this some very good work and I enjoyed it a lot.

Insanctuary responds:

Mhmm. Glad you enjoyed it. I didn't really hear clipping on my side though :/. Nobody has complained about clipping. Not even a particular somebody who teaches me about EQ'ing, and and other technical stuff, said it was clipping. It might be just your speakers, or it's a big coincidence all of us were oblivious to this ninja clipping going on in my song. Anyways, thankyou for the review. ^-^ Good day to you.

Good job.

Liked the impending feel the music and lyrics gave. While the vocals weren't top notch, I think they did what they were intended to do and that was to support the song. I like the feel of the bass, cut through very nice. I just kind of wish the highs had been cut a bit, but that might just be because my ears are more sensitive to higher pitches.

Overall it felt very minimalistic, but also very filling which means you made great use of the reverb. Good job and I hope to hear more from you.

YouriX responds:

Thanks alot mate :) Glad i am making progress in my mixing.

I like sci fi, horror, music, art, and other things. Feel free to ask me anything.
